Easy Online Side Hustles You Can Starting Earning Money From Today
1. Online Surveys
One of my favorite ways to earn some quick cash is to take surveys! At the beginning of 2021, came across Prolific, a site completely dedicated to academic and brand surveys.
The amazing thing about being a Prolific participant is there’s usually always a survey available (will depend on your profile, but I’ve rarely had a blank screen), and the pay rate is way better than any other site I’ve seen.
Payment is made via PayPal and the threshold is super low (just £5 — and don’t worry, PayPal will automatically convert this to dollars for you)!
Another site where I take surveys is Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk for short).
Now, MTurk has a lot of tasks (called “HITs”), but I always focus on the keyword “survey” to sift through the one cent jobs that are a waste of time.
From there, I take a look at the HIT title to see if there is an approximate amount of time it takes to complete the survey. If it pays 50 cents for 5 minutes, then I’ll definitely do it. On the other hand, if they’re paying 50 cents for 30 minutes, I’ll pass that one by because it’s just not worth it.
By the way, you can tell MTurk how often you want to be paid, which makes this one of the best easy online side hustles because you can get paid on your terms!
Note: Sometimes you’ll find a survey that has a bonus opportunity, meaning you can earn more money by doing something certain in the survey itself. I still make sure the base pay rate is fair before taking these, but it’s something to consider, especially if there’s a guaranteed bonus offered.
A third site I’d recommend checking out is Survey Junkie. Simply complete a survey anytime an eligible one becomes available to you and earn points!
You can cash out via PayPal, or even choose a gift card to your favorite store.
2. Rewards Sites
These are “all-encompassing” sites, meaning you can earn money for doing a multitude of things, such as:
- Completing offers
- Searching the web
- Playing games
- Entering bonus codes
- Opening emails
- Watching videos
- Answering daily polls
- Downloading apps
- Uploading receipts
- And more!
Now, I don’t spend a ton of time on these sites, but I do enough to cashout at least once a month (because every little bit counts!).
Sometimes they’ll have a really great free app deal, meaning I can download the app from their referral link and earn money just for doing that. Easy peasy!
3. Referral and Bonus Programs
One of the not-so-typical easy online side hustles is referring people to apps and/or websites that offer referral bonuses.
This side hustle is great if you have a larger following, friends and family who would do anything to help you out, or you’re just an outgoing person who enjoys sharing deals with people.
Did I also mention that you can use these programs to also get cash back on your online and in-store purchases?
That’s what I call a double win!
4. Test Websites and Apps
If you’re interested in evaluating websites and apps, then go sign up for UserTesting!
20 minute tests will net you $10, and live interviews pay anywhere between $30-$120. Not bad for sitting at home on your couch!
To be successful at this online side hustle, you’ll need to speak clearly, be honest about your feedback, and not be afraid to be on camera (if you choose to participate in tests where the user has requested that your camera be turned on).
There’s an entire subreddit on UserTesting if you want to learn more and see how much people have been earning!
5. Complete Online Studies and Focus Groups
If you’re a professional who’s interested in participating in online focus groups and studies, then check out Respondent.
Upon creating an account, you’ll fill out a short profile about yourself, including your work title and skills.
From there, you’ll be able to access the Respondent dashboard and see what studies are available to you. If one interests you, fill out the screener and you’ll be notified if you’re selected to participate!
Now, you can only submit 3 screeners within a 24 hour period, so use them wisely.
6. Become an Affiliate
If you enjoy recommending products to people, then becoming an affiliate for some of your favorite brands might be a good route to go.
Note: Most affiliate programs require some type of initial application. Once you’re approved, you’ll get custom links to share with your followers.
Anytime someone clicks on the link and makes a purchase within the allotted timeframe (can range from 24 hours to 60+ days), then you’ll receive a percentage of that sale, at absolutely no cost to the person who made the purchase.
If you enjoy sharing Amazon products with your followers, there’s a program for that (Amazon Associates)!
There’s also ShareASale, CJ, rewardStyle, Impact, and many others where you can apply for numerous affiliate programs from one dashboard.
7. Teach or Tutor Online
Teachers and tutors need easy online side hustles, too!
VIPKid does tend to have early hours since you’ll be working with children on the other side of the world, but this makes a great side hustle for you early birds who still work a day job!
